Back Row Acapella - An Award Winning Group

They remind me of my old days.. Hehe.. When I was an avid fan of Philippines Local AKAPella Group.. I really am a music lover..
About the group: Back Row honored for second straight year; "Sexyback" one of 18 songs selected out of nearly 1,500 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - November 21, 2007 - For the second time in two years, Back Row, Colorado College's all-male a cappella group, has been selected to appear on the national compilation CD series Best of College A Cappella. The BOCA award is an annual recognition of the best songs in college a cappella music in the United States. Every fall, collegiate a cappella groups from around the country submit their albums in hopes of being selected for inclusion on the prestigious CD. This year nearly 1,500 songs were submitted, vying for one of only 18 spots, one of which went to the Back Row. "Sexyback," a song from the group's second album, "After This I'll Show You My Rock Collection," will be Track 4 on BOCA 2008. Back Row is one of only two a cappella groups appearing on BOCA in back-to-back years with songs from different albums, a feat rarely accomplished in college a cappella music. Source

College Girl or Call Girl -- Who Has More Value?

This YouTube video was a French documentary about the Las Vegas sex industry,"The Right To Know" filmed on location with Annie Lobert of Hookers For Jesus. She candidly shares what happened to her as a result of becoming an escort in Las Vegas. It is called "Le Droit De Savoir" about the Las Vegas sex industry pros and cons. It is in French, but if you listen real close, you can hear what is being said. Check it out!
I feel drawn to those that society has deemed "on the fringe", or even outright rejected, so I feel what Annie was saying about relative worth.. I don't even know what to say to that except that Jesus seemed to go out of His way to minister to the same people on the "edge of society" - so should we. Read More......

Designing is Good

I got this "talent" of web designing way back when I was in my first college days. I was taking my Computer Secretarial (2000) course then and was really into computer stuffs.. But since my course was limited of computer use, I never really had a chance to enhance my "talent"... Not until I took my Electronics and Communication Eng'r course and went to one of the biggest university in the Philippines. We had unlimited use of internet and computer. And sister bought our own pc at the same time. So I took advantage of it and tried to learn about HTML, CSS and Java stuffs as much as I can.. My knowledge is wayyy tooo basic.. I am proud to say that I USED FrontPage. Hehe.. First program that I used to practice HTML codes was Microsoft FrontPage. This program helps you create and manage the exact website you want. The fonts, size, color, tables, etc.. As a newbie, I had fun when I was using it because I got what I wanted: WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). But, it is not a perfect tool for web page designing (at least for those who do it professionally).. BUT it could be of big help to combined with minor HTML knowledge can take you a long way.. The downside of it? FrontPage does not provide the design and coding flexibility that Dreamweaver currently does. And that's what I am on right now, self-tutoring again for Dreamweaver.. =) Read More......

American Gangster

Ratings: 4 of 5. Based on real life story..
BF and I took almost 4 weeks before we finally decided to see American Gangster.. And we even have to made deal before watching this. Hehe.. We saw the movie's trailler when we watched the Elizabeth movie. First thing came up to me is the recent movie Scorsese’s The Departed, a mobster vs. cop movie.. Being a big fan of Denzel Washington, I never had a second thought of watching this but twas my lovelife who kept saying that we should not watch this one coz this movie is too violent and brutal.. He doesn't want me to see movies like this cause that might make me violent too.. LOLS..

Washington played the role of Frank Lucas; an verturesome and very allegiant to Harlem’s top bigwig. His gangdom counselor thought him lessons, and that's what he uses when his mob boss died to take over the mammot narcotic trade in New York.. And using the military plane, they ship drugs from Thailand and put it inside the soldiers' coffin.. Russel Crowe played the role of Richie Roberts, a Jersey cop. He's in a job environment full of corrupt policeman; Robert's a sullenly upright detective and drug enforcement officer...

You know the irony of their characters? Frank lives by a rigorous moral code of family and honesty BUT does deceitful things for a living. Richie's private life is full of lies and failed family relationship BUT an honest cop. This two different persona resulted into something absorbing. But the spoiler on this movie is that they do not really interact with each other until the end of the movie so you'll not get a strong emotion for either persona. And not much violence or crime as I was expecting it.

It is something like you see great looking food in menu, you crave for it and buy it. But after you finish eating it, you would just say, "not bad".. Hehehe.. My jowa and I were entertained and I did not even try to sleep (as I used to everytime he picks what movie to watch. LOL).. As what he said, Denzel and Crowe, or the movie itself, will be one of the biggest Oscar's rival..

Pirates Caribbean - At World's End

Captain Jack was definitely back! Well I could really count off fiction persona's I like.. :) Uhm, Frodo, of course, tops my list, a fairly archetypal wizard Gandalf, an elf but a darling (hehe) - Legolas, Eowyn - lover of Aragon, Constantine, Trinity and amongst other.. But then, who can be compared with Captain Jack Sparrow? I wont forget my anticipated times when I was waiting for this Pirates Caribbean - At World's End. Wuhooo! I absolutely hated what Elizabeth did to the pirate in Dead Man's Chest. But then methinks, there should be climacteric where the third (and final?) instalment can kick off.. I've seen movie stills, and it looks really good. With addition of Chow Yun Fat (who looks like a soldier of Gengkis Khan) and the long-awaited (at least for me..hehe) comeback of Capt. Barbosa. And Keith Richards who plays as Jack's dad is said in the movie too..Reasons what makes Jack Sparrow holding the attention.. First, he is a pirate. How fab would it be to fill up a bio-date, slambook (hehe), etc and put pirate as a profession.. Hihi. Right? Second, (Robert Smith must be proud because) he wears mascara better than the ladies. Third, he is a grog-stupefied peacock (which makes the movie comic). Fourth, he can talk himself out of anything (exclude from crony pirates). And lastly, he is actually a good pirate (uhmmm.. If there is a such). Read More......

Spider Man 3 (The Musical)

I watched this movie on DVD out of boredom.. (I feel sooo infertile! I need my job back.. Heehe).. I wasn't really interested to see this one and definitely am not and never been a big Spider-man fan. I thought twas okay (because it looks good in synopsis and all) but I would rather see Mr. Bean's unlacking amusement movies than seeing Mr. McGuire swinging on wires. Heehee. This film was soooopeeer cut-and-dried and a bit irksome. Methinks, it could be Spider-man - The Musical.. Too many dancing and singing.. Though, Spider-man 3 was reported to be the most expensive american film ever! (Would you believe?) Read More......
